AC Motors

The IEI Series of Inverter Duty AC Motors range from 0.37kw to 1200kW in frame sizes 90 to 560. These motors are suitable for lower speed (minimum 10% rated) & lower frequency operation by using a separately driven constant RPM cooling fan. They are suitable for both constant torque operation (by maintaining constant V/f ratio) and for constant kW operation (by weakening the flux) and can be used in applications like extruders, lifts, fans, winder / rewinders etc. IEI Motors have IP55 protection and IC416 cooling.

The IEL Series of Square Frame AC Motors range from 3.7kW to 1500 kW in frame sizes 100 to 355. These motors are operated only with variable speed drives and have a separate cooling fan. They are ideal replacement for DC Motors as the rotors have low inertia and can achieve excellent dynamic response.

The IESL Series of Slip Ring AC Motors range from 600kW to 2000 kW in frame sizes 500 and 560. These motors are capable of high starting torque under heavy loads and incorporation of external resistors in the rotor circuit to effectively control the motor's speed. The IESL Series of Motors find use primarily in Re-rolling (Roughing) Mills in Steel Industries.
